- In Ukraine, it was reported about the detention of the ex-deputy mayor of Kharkov in the case of embezzlement

The former deputy mayor of Kharkiv was detained in the case of multimillion-dollar embezzlement during the construction of defensive fortifications in the region. This was announced on June 28 by the press service of the Ukrainian police.
The name of the detainee is not indicated. According to the Ukrainian media, we are talking about Andrei Rudenko, who held this post until April 2024.
"The criminal scheme involves: the organizer is the former deputy mayor of Kharkiv, the participants are the main contractor and three more commercial structures. It was through them that the contractor purchased property <...> with a 30% markup," the Telegram channel of the police of Ukraine says.
The damage caused to the state is estimated at 5.4 million hryvnias ($130 thousand).
On June 11, the State Bureau of Investigation (GBR) of Ukraine reported the arrest of the deputy battalion commander of one of the military units in the Khmelnitsky region. The man organized a scheme by which, together with accomplices, he embezzled $ 24,000 for the purchase of bakery products for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). In fact, no products were supplied, and the "proceeds" were distributed among members of a criminal community organized by the military.
