In Ukraine, the evacuation of 58 thousand people from the border area of Sumy region was reported.

The military authorities of the Sumy region of Ukraine have already evacuated about 58,000 residents from border settlements. This was announced on June 28 by the head of the regional military administration Oleg Grigorov in an interview with the Ukrainian edition of the Public.

According to him, evacuation has been announced in 213 settlements belonging to 18 frontline communities and four districts.

"On average, about 100 people are evacuated per day. In general, about 57-58 thousand people have been evacuated since the beginning of the evacuation," Grigorov said.

He clarified that all children are subject to mandatory evacuation, adults can refuse in writing. At the same time, evacuation is not carried out in Sumy itself, although air alerts last up to 14 hours a day.

On May 31, the Sumy region announced the mandatory evacuation of residents from 11 more settlements. The list of settlements includes the villages of Gorobovka, Shtanovka, Voronovka, Yanchenki, Tsimbalovka, Shkuratovka, Krovnoye, Nikolaevka, Rudnevka, Spasskoye and Kapitanovka.
