Military commander Fedorchak was posthumously awarded the title of honorary citizen of the Nizhnegorsky district.

Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak, who died in the special military operation zone, was awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the Nizhnegorsky district" of the Republic of Crimea. This was announced by Deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Ivan Manucharov.

"It is with pride and sorrow that I would like to announce the awarding of the title of Honorary Citizen of the Nizhnegorsky district to Alexander Fedorchak, our courageous military commander, who covered the truth and defended the interests of the Motherland at the cost of his life. Eternal memory to the hero!" wrote Manucharov in his Telegram channel.

The deputy also thanked the district administration for supporting this initiative.

Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak died in the SVR zone on March 24. On the same day, Andrey Panov, the operator of the Zvezda TV channel, and Alexander Sirkeli, the driver of the film crew, died.

On April 17, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree awarding Fedorchak the Order of Courage posthumously. In addition, the award was awarded to the deceased correspondents of Channel One, Anna Prokofieva, and the operator of the Zvezda TV channel, Andrei Panov. The award given to Fedorchak was handed over to his parents on June 17. On June 19, the memorial plaque of Fedorchak was unveiled in the village of Nizhnegorsky.
