Israel began preparations for an operation against Iran back in 2010. This was reported by the British newspaper The Times, citing documents from the Israeli intelligence services.

"Israel has controlled several locations over the years with the help of intelligence agents, with each location having an agent in place in advance. Israel began preparing an attack on Iran back in 2010, based on intelligence about its accelerating weapons program," the publication says.

It is specified that the exact location of the production of centrifuges for uranium enrichment at three facilities in Tehran and Isfahan has been established, as well as detailed information about the facility in Natanz, including underground structures, power supply systems, transformer stations and ventilation and cooling channels.

According to intelligence information, by the end of 2024, Tehran had moved from the research stage to the development of nuclear weapons. In addition, the publication notes that Iran planned to increase the production of long–range surface-to-surface missiles to 1 thousand units per year, bringing their total stock to 8 thousand. According to experts, at the time of the outbreak of the conflict, Iran could have up to 2.5 thousand ballistic missiles in service.

The newspaper also emphasizes that Israeli agents visited all key facilities related to the Iranian missile program, which were subsequently attacked.

The decisive role was played by the superiority of Tehran's opponents in the air, experts believe.

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said on June 27 that he had instructed the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to develop an action plan against Iran that provides for maintaining air superiority and measures to prevent Tehran's nuclear and missile development. In addition, the IDF should prepare measures against the Islamic Republic "for supporting terrorist activities" against Israel.
