Members of a criminal group were detained in the Urals in connection with the murders

In the Sverdlovsk region, the activities of a criminal group suspected of a number of murders and attempted murders have been suppressed. This was reported on June 28 in the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region.

"According to the investigation, the defendants, who were part of an ethnic criminal group, were involved in a number of episodes of murders and attempted murders committed on the territory of Yekaterinburg in 2001, 2010, 2011," the Telegram channel of the department clarified.

According to the Investigative Committee, several suspects have already confessed. In addition, searches were conducted at the places of residence of these persons. The issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention in relation to the detainees is being resolved.

A criminal case has been opened into the crime under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Murder committed by a group of persons by prior agreement", "Murder for hire", "Attempted murder for hire"). The punishment for the commission of the most serious of these crimes is provided up to life imprisonment.
