The advance of the Russian Armed Forces (RF Armed Forces) deprives Ukraine of rare earth metal deposits necessary for the implementation of the deal with the United States. This was reported on June 28 by The New York Times.

"The more territory Russian troops occupy in Ukraine, the fewer resources Kiev can offer Washington," the article says.

According to the newspaper, the administration of US President Donald Trump sought to tap into Ukraine's huge lithium reserves, one of the largest in Europe, through the recently signed rare earth metals agreement.

It is reported that Russia already controls a number of deposits of titanium, manganese and other important minerals.

The day before, the French newspaper Le Figaro indicated that there is a large lithium deposit in the village of Shevchenko in the Donetsk People's Republic, liberated by the Russian army. In addition to lithium, the Shevchenko site also has deposits of rare metals. The authors specify that Ukraine has already lost control over two of the four lithium deposits.
