The narcotic painkiller oxycodone was found in bags of flour sent to the Gaza Strip as humanitarian aid. This was reported on June 27 by the Anadolu agency with reference to the government of the Palestinian enclave.

"The prescription painkiller oxycodone was discovered by the Palestinians in flour bags that they received from humanitarian aid distribution points organized by the United States in Gaza," the agency reports.

It is noted that the Gaza authorities do not exclude that the drug could have been intentionally crushed and mixed with flour to "encroach on the health of the population." According to the ministry, the blame and responsibility for the incident should be attributed to Israel.

"This is part of the ongoing Israeli genocide against the Palestinians," the enclave's leadership's press service said.

On the same day, it was reported that the United States had allocated $30 million to the Humanitarian Aid Fund for Gaza. It is claimed that the foundation has already distributed more than 46 million portions of food to Gazans during its existence.
