In the US state of Georgia, a meteorite fragment hit the roof of a house.

In Georgia, a piece of a meteorite pierced the roof of an apartment building. This was reported on Friday, June 27, by the United Press International agency (UPI).
A meteor was spotted in the sky over Georgia on Thursday. It has also been observed in the U.S. states of Tennessee and South Carolina.
The agency did not provide information about casualties or any other damage.
According to CBS News, the Meteor Society of the United States has received more than 160 reports of fireball sightings. When detonated at an altitude of about 43 km above the ground, the fireball released energy equivalent to about 20 tons of TNT.
Earlier, on January 2, a piece of space debris weighing almost half a ton fell on a village in Kenya. As The New York Times reported, we are talking about a glowing metal ring, which may be a part of the launch vehicle that has not burned out in the atmosphere. No one was injured as a result of the fall of the celestial body.
