The Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Japan announced the monitoring of the situation with the murder of a Russian woman.

The Russian Consulate General in Japan on Saturday, June 28, reported that it had contacted the Japanese police regarding the murder of 50-year-old Russian Elena Ito in Osaka.

"We have proactively contacted the police in Osaka, Naniwa district, where this incident occurred. An investigation is currently underway and we are in contact with law enforcement agencies," the diplomatic mission told Izvestia.

They noted that at the moment, the embassy has not received any official information regarding the murder.

The discovery of the body of a Russian woman with traces of wounds in Osaka, Japan, became known earlier that day. There were marks of blows on the woman's face, and she was bleeding. Ito's ex-husband, also a citizen of the Russian Federation, contacted the police, who could not contact her for several days.
