The police have closed an illegal casino in Vladivostok. This was announced on Saturday, June 28, by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Primorsky Territory.

Information about the gambling establishment was found during monitoring of social networks.

"Operatives of the Department of Economic Security and Anti—corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Vladivostok immediately went to the scene to carry out verification measures," the department said in a Telegram channel.

The casino was located on the ground floor of a building on Ivanovskaya Street, and was open around the clock.

When the police officers arrived at the place, there were nine customers and an administrator in the gambling establishment. During the search, 62 pieces of gaming equipment, communications equipment, documentation and 104 thousand rubles were seized.

The identity of the organizers of the illegal activity is being established.

On May 22, it was reported that in Yakutia, law enforcement officers eliminated a network of underground casinos, and 18 people were detained. Two local residents who had previous convictions organized an illegal casino in correctional colonies, as well as in several districts and Yakutsk. In addition, members of the community used strict measures, and in case of non-payment of debts resorted to violence. This is how the defendants extorted money from the players.
