US President Donald Trump said on Friday, June 27, that perhaps a truce in the Gaza Strip would be reached in a week. This was reported by the Reuters news agency.

"We believe that we will be able to achieve a cease—fire within the next week," Trump replied when asked by reporters how close he and his administration are to a cease-fire deal in Gaza.

According to Trump, the United States supplies a lot of money and food to the enclave.

"Theoretically, we are not involved, but we are actually involved because people are dying there," the American president added.

Earlier, on June 26, Reuters reported that the United States had allocated $30 million to the Humanitarian Aid Fund for Gaza. The State Department called on other countries to also support the organization providing assistance in the conflict-ridden Gaza Strip.
