The doctor warned about the dangers of some low-fat foods

Recently, people often buy low-fat foods, thereby trying to accustom themselves to a healthy diet. About how some of these products can be harmful to the human body, June 27, Gazeta.Ru" was told by Elena Ustinova, a nutritionist and general practitioner at the SM Clinic.
The doctor recommended reading the labels and paying attention to the composition of the products, because it is there that you can find out how useful at first glance a product may contain a large amount of sugar and flavor enhancers.
"If you take low–fat but sweet yogurt, it may contain 0.5 grams of fat, 2.5—3.5 grams of protein per 100 grams of product and a very large amount of carbohydrates in the form of sugars. <...> It is better to abandon such products," Ustinova said.
Despite the trend towards reducing fat intake, the nutritionist reminded that you should not completely abandon lipids.
"Even if you're losing weight, it's important to consume enough protein, fat, and reduce your carbohydrate intake. A nutritionist can calculate exactly how many calories and BZHU (proteins, fats, carbohydrates) you need after consultation," the specialist explained.
Earlier, on May 23, Irina Lyalina, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the State University of Education, gave advice on choosing high-quality cottage cheese. The expert noted that cottage cheese should contain only milk and sourdough — without additives, starch, preservatives or stabilizers.
