Trump announced the termination of trade negotiations with Canada

The United States is terminating all trade negotiations with Canada and will notify it of the rate of future trade duties within a week. This was announced on June 27 by US President Donald Trump.

"Canada has just announced the introduction of a digital services tax on our American technology companies, which is a direct and blatant attack on our country. In response, we are immediately suspending all discussions on trade with Canada," the American leader wrote on his Truth Social network.

Trump clarified that Canada will be notified of the rate of its future trade duties within the next seven days.

The meeting is taking place in Canada from June 15th to 17th.

Earlier in the day, Reuters reported on a new U.S. proposal for a trade deal with the European Union (EU). According to the agency's source, one official called the US proposal an "outline" containing only a few points.
