Trump says he saved Khamenei from a "shameful death" in the conflict with Israel

On June 27, US President Donald Trump announced that he had personally ordered Israel to cancel a large-scale air attack on Tehran, which could become the "final knockout" in the conflict between Israel and Iran.

In his address, Trump stressed that he knew the location of Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and did not allow either the Israeli or American armed forces to eliminate him. According to Trump, he "personally saved Khamenei from a humiliating and shameful death."

Trump said that after it became known about the possible attack, he demanded that Israel return a group of planes bound for Tehran for a strike. He added that this attack could have caused huge casualties and would have been the largest in the entire conflict.

According to the American leader, he was working on the possible lifting of sanctions and creating conditions for the restoration of Iran, but after harsh statements from Tehran, he decided to abandon these steps.

"I get hit with a statement of anger, hatred and disgust, and I immediately stop all work on lifting sanctions and more. Iran must return to the flow of the world order, otherwise everything will only get worse for them," Trump wrote on the Truth Social network.

On the same day, the American leader said that the United States would launch new attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities if it received intelligence about the dangerous level of uranium enrichment in the Islamic Republic.
