The case of a pensioner attacking his grandson with a knife near Lipetsk was brought to court

In the Lipetsk region, the investigation of a criminal case against a 71-year-old man who attacked his 15-year-old great-nephew with a knife has been completed. This was announced by the regional SU of the Investigative Committee of Russia on Friday, June 27.

The incident occurred on March 25, 2025 in a private house in the village of Veshalovka. According to the investigation, the pensioner woke up his sleeping grandson and stabbed him in the chest. The boy was hospitalized, doctors fought for his life for about three hours.

"At the stage of the preliminary investigation, the accused confessed to what he had done, explaining that the motive was a long conflict with his grandson, and confirmed the testimony during a check by an investigator of the regional Investigative Committee at the crime scene," the Investigative Committee said in a statement.

The pensioner was charged under paragraph "h" of Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Intentional infliction of serious harm to health committed with the use of weapons or objects used as weapons." The maximum sanction of this article provides for up to 10 years in prison.

According to GOROD48, the pensioner stabbed the boy in the chest with a kitchen knife and also injured his left arm. The teenager's grandmother witnessed the incident, and she called an ambulance. The woman is the victim's grandmother, and the attacker is her brother. She did not spend the night in the house, came in the morning to wake her grandson, but when she went inside, she found her brother with a bloody knife in his hand near the boy's bed.

The woman said that her brother had been threatening the teenager for the past three years, including saying that he would stab him. He also stated his intention to deal with other relatives of the boy — the mother and her husband.
