Investigators have opened a criminal case on sabotage after damage to an energy infrastructure facility by a transport police officer in the Voronezh Region. This was reported on June 27 by the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

"The investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Voronezh Region have opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Sabotage")," follows from a publication on the Telegram channel.

It is specified that on June 27, 2025, a police officer set fire to an electrical substation in the Voronezh region. At the next attempt to commit a crime, law enforcement officers detained him on the spot.

Law enforcement officers conducted an inspection of the scene. At the moment, the circumstances of the incident are being established.

It is noted that the investigation intends to apply for the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention. Charges will be brought against the person involved in the near future.

Earlier in the day, it was reported about the arrest of a transport police officer who damaged an energy infrastructure facility. He was convinced to commit a crime by fraudsters, to whom he first transferred 800 thousand rubles. Further, in exchange for a promise to return the money, he was forced to commit illegal acts.
