A criminal case has been opened in the Leningrad Region on the fact of a 20-year-old girl driving a car into her son, born in 2021, in the courtyard of an apartment building. This was announced by the regional SU of the Investigative Committee of Russia on Friday, June 27.
The hit-and-run occurred the day before, on June 26, in the courtyard of house No. 3 on Main Street in the village of Petrovskie Babyj, Luga district. According to the investigation, a 20-year-old girl driving a Kia Spectra, driving in reverse, hit her son, born in 2021, who was on the roadway.
As a result of the accident, the boy suffered fractures of both thighs, the 78 TV channel said. He is currently in the hospital, where he is receiving medical care.
A criminal case has been opened under paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of traffic rules by a person who does not have the right to drive a vehicle, which negligently caused serious harm to health." The circumstances, causes and conditions that led to the incident are being established.
On June 22, a drunk man driving a Nissan hit a man with a child at a pedestrian crossing in Kyzyl, Tyva Republic. A father and his four-year-old son died.
