- The Central Bank of the Russian Federation declared its readiness to punish for unfair registration of deposits

The Central Bank of Russia, if necessary, intends to develop amendments to laws or issue a special banking standard if financial organizations make deposits for citizens using unfair methods. This was announced on June 27 by the press service of the regulator.
They noted that the specialists of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation have already issued recommendations for banks, which are required to honestly and in detail inform customers about the conditions under which deposit agreements are drawn up and where to store savings, as well as monitor compliance with regulations.
"We are conducting supervisory cooperation on the identified cases. If necessary, we will prepare proposals for amendments to laws or issue a special banking standard," the Telegram channel of the Central Bank of Russia says.
On December 26, 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law tightening the requirements for advertising loans. The law is aimed at reducing the volume of impulsively taken loans. It obliges banks and credit organizations to encourage consumers to study all loan terms in advertising. The changes came into force on March 1, 2025.
