The Greek Minister of Migration resigned from his post due to the case of embezzlement of EU funds

Greek Migration Minister Makis Voridis has resigned after becoming embroiled in an investigation by the European Union (EU) into the misuse of subsidies to Greek farmers, but he denies any wrongdoing. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on June 27.

"Since my status as a criminal suspect does not correspond to my status as a member of the government, and also in order not to interfere with the work of the government, I am submitting my resignation to you," Voridis said in a letter to Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Mitsotakis accepted Voridis' resignation, and a government spokesman said a replacement would be announced in the coming days.

Four other government officials also resigned, without giving a reason for their decision.
