Vityaz was excluded from the KHL until 2030.

The Vityaz hockey club near Moscow was excluded from the membership of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) until the 2029/2030 season. This is stated on the league's website on June 27.
"The Vityaz team has been excluded from the membership of the Fonbet KHL Championship for the 2025/2026-2029/2030 seasons, and the Russian Knights team has been excluded from the membership of the OLIMPBET MHL Championship for the 2025/2026 season," the press release says.
It is noted that the decision was made following a meeting of the KHL Board of Directors. In addition, Vityaz players have been granted the status of an "unrestricted free agent" since July 15, 2025, unless their sports rights are transferred to another club by that date.
On June 24, it was reported that Vityaz would not participate in the new KHL season. It is noted that the KHL Board of Directors will consider changes to the league's membership, in particular, the transfer of Tolyatti Lada from the Eastern to the Western Conference.
