A five-year-old child has fallen out of a small vessel on a canal in Khimki, Moscow region, and divers are looking for him. This was announced on June 27 by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in the region.
"Today, on the Moscow Canal in the Khimki city district, during a maneuver, the captain of a small vessel lost control, as a result of which a five—year-old child fell overboard," the Telegram channel said.
Representatives of the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels (GIMS) are working at the scene of the incident Moscow region, diving group, psychologists of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and others.
As the Western Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia (IC) noted in its Telegram channel, a criminal case was opened into the incident in accordance with Part 2 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic safety and operation rules for railway, air, sea, inland waterway transport and the subway").
Earlier, on June 8, one person died as a result of a boat capsizing on the Don River in the Volgograd region. A criminal case was opened against the driver. He faces up to five years in prison.
