The US and Israeli strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities are causing irreparable damage to the non-proliferation regime. This was announced on June 27 by the President of the Islamic Republic, Masoud Peseshkian.

"The military attack by the United States and the Zionist regime on Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities is a gross violation of all international rules and deals an irreparable blow to the status of the nuclear nonproliferation regime by a permanent member of the UN Security Council," he said at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, speaking via video link.

According to him, the UN Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) should treat "aggressors and warmongers" more responsibly.

During his speech, the Iranian president also thanked all the countries that condemned the military aggression against Iran.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, in turn, noted during the meeting that attacks on Tehran's nuclear facilities "most dangerously" violate the provisions of international law, including documents such as the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and the Geneva Conventions of 1949.

Earlier in the day, Sergey Balmasov, an expert at the Middle East Institute and an expert at the Russian Council on International Affairs (RIAC), pointed out Iran's doubts about the US nuclear program proposal. He noted that it would be unwise to trust US President Donald Trump after his withdrawal from the nuclear deal in 2018.
