Experts talked about the attitude of zoomers to mortgages

The share of zoomer borrowers on the "Family Mortgage" is returning to its maximum over the past three years. Domclick experts told about this by analyzing the behavior of young borrowers in the Family mortgage market, separately considering the generation of zoomers born from the mid-1990s to the early 2010s.

According to Domclick analysts, the share of zoomers in obtaining a "Family Mortgage" increased by 4.2% in 2024-2025, almost returning to the maximum of 2022 (21.5%).

Most often, "Family mortgages" are taken by borrowers from regions with relatively affordable housing or high salaries (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District). The Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug became the leader — the share of zoomers was 29%. The second place was shared by the Orel and Ryazan regions, where the share of homeowners with a Family mortgage was 28%. In the Tver and Lipetsk regions, loan holders accounted for 27% of family mortgages, in the Yamalo—Nenets Autonomous District, Kurgan and Ulyanovsk regions - 26% each. The Republic of Karelia and the Tambov Region complete the list of regions with a relatively high proportion of borrowers with a Family mortgage — 25% each.

Young residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg are the least likely to apply for a "Family mortgage." In the Russian capital, loan borrowers account for only 11% of loans issued, while in St. Petersburg they account for 13%. On the other hand, residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg, including young people, are leading the way in buying housing without a mortgage in 2025. In the northern capital, according to the results of the first half of the year, the share of non—mortgage transactions was 67%, and in Moscow - 66%.

The majority of those who applied for a "Family mortgage" are women (58%). 66% of borrowers have one child, and a third have two. About 30% used maternity capital for the initial payment — 10% more than in 2024. A noticeable increase is observed in the income level: the median salary of loan borrowers increased from 87 thousand in 2024 to 100 thousand rubles in 2025.
