Teenagers in Russia have become more likely to look for employment options. The number of resumes of young people aged 14 to 17 increased 3.2 times per year. This was reported to Izvestia on June 27 by Avito Rabota experts who analyzed the data on the platform.

Minors are more likely to seek part—time jobs that do not require special training, such as promoters (+122%), babysitters (+110%), sales clerks (+80%) and novice copywriters (+35%).

Some applicants are also interested in more complex areas, such as business development manager (+26%). They offer full management and promotion of social networks, organization of professional photo shoots and setting up contextual advertising.

Their salary expectations average about 30 thousand rubles per month, which is 20% more than a year earlier. At the same time, the real amount of earnings is lower — about 13 thousand rubles per month. The format of temporary employment during the holidays is especially popular.

In the 18-24 age group, the number of resumes increased 2.8 times over the year. Young people are mostly looking for jobs as waiters (+126%), pickers (+109%), animators (+88%) and artists (+83%).

In general, employers have become more active in hiring young people: the number of vacancies for schoolchildren and undergraduates has increased by 32%. The number of internships with flexible schedules has also tripled (+214%). They are especially popular in the summer, when students and graduates are looking for opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.

On June 1, analysts at Enjoy Camp summer educational camps shared with Izvestia the results of a survey, according to which about half of Russians allow their children to work during school years. It was noted that almost 38% of respondents named 14-16 years as the optimal age for first earnings.

On April 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that allows teenagers from 14 to 18 years old to be employed on weekends and holidays during the summer holidays. This law will enter into force on September 1, 2025.
