The analyst named the most popular car in alternative imports

Over the past three and a half years, 477,000 new passenger cars have been imported into Russia under alternative import schemes. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel on June 27. The most popular model in alternative imports was the Geely Monjaro crossover.

From 2022 to May 2025, 34.4 thousand were imported to Russia. Geely Monjaro. He is followed in the ranking by Lixiang L7 (16.1 thousand units), the top five were supplemented by Toyota Camry (15.5 thousand units), Lixiang L9 (13.4 thousand units) and Toyota RAV4 (11.4 thousand units).

Chinese cars account for 45.7% of all passenger car imports under alternative schemes. Japanese cars are in second place (23.4%), followed by German (15.8%) and Korean (6.5%).

If in 2022 the alternative import of passenger cars amounted to 35.3 thousand units, then in 2023 it increased to 225.3 thousand units, but in 2024 the volume decreased to 181.2 thousand units. In five months of this year, imports amounted to 34.9 thousand units.

In the first five months of 2025, less than 19,000 cars were imported from the former Soviet Union to Russia, which is 74% less year-on-year.
