On June 27, Deputy Speaker of the Slovak Parliament Andrei Danko announced the impossibility of Ukraine's accession to the European Union (EU) against the background of its threat to the security of the bloc.

"Ukraine is a security threat. She cannot join the EU either now or in the future. If she joins the EU, she will want to join NATO," Danko said on his YouTube channel.

The parliamentarian also spoke about the "mineral deal" concluded between Ukraine and the United States. Danko noted that Brussels will help extract these minerals and subsidize American companies.

"In Brussels, do you really not see how the United States is wiping its feet on the European Union? <...> I am for the truth. But the truth is that Ukraine will threaten the security of the EU. That Ukraine cannot be a member of the EU and NATO"? — said Danko.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the EU was unable to adopt a statement on Ukraine following the Brussels summit, as one of the countries of the association did not support it. At the same time, the country that refused to accept the application is not named.

On the eve of the EU summit, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Ukraine should not be part of the union, because it would bring with it a systematic threat of conflict.
