- The court announced the verdict of the surgeon in the case of unsuccessful blepharoplasty to the wife of the head of FEOR

The court sentenced Ekaterina Lonskaya, a surgeon, to 11 months in a penal colony in the case of unsuccessful blepharoplasty for the wife of the head of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia (FEOR) Inna Boroda. This was reported on June 27 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
At the same time, Lonskaya herself pleaded not guilty to the incident in court. She clarified that she was not allowed to conduct a new medical examination to determine the causes of her deteriorating health. According to Lonskaya, the approved examination "raises doubts."
"I plead not guilty. Throughout my career, I have not allowed cases where I could harm a patient," she said during her last speech in court.
It is noted that the person involved is also prohibited from practicing medicine for two and a half years.
Lonskaya performed blepharoplasty on Inna Boroda, the wife of the head of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia, in the fall of 2023 at the Klazko clinic. The surgical intervention was unsuccessful, the woman almost lost her eyesight and underwent several more operations to correct the results of blepharoplasty.
As Alexander Dobrovinsky, the victim's lawyer, told Izvestia, Lonskaya is accused of providing services that do not meet safety requirements (part 2 of Article 238) and causing serious harm to health by negligence (part 2 of Article 118).
