Putin spoke about the record volume of trade between Russia and Belarus

Russia and Belarus reached a record trade turnover of more than $50 billion last year. This was stated on June 27 by Russian President Vladimir Putin in a video message to the participants of the plenary session of the XII Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus, which was published on the Kremlin's website.
According to the Russian leader, Russia accounts for about 60% of the foreign trade turnover of Belarus as the republic's main partner.
"Last year, the trade turnover updated the historical maximum and exceeded $50 billion. In terms of accumulated investments in the Belarusian economy, Russia firmly holds the first place — about $5 billion," the head of state said.
In addition, he announced plans to sign about one hundred commercial contracts worth 20 billion rubles following the results of the forum. Putin noted that such cooperation would help the integration of Russia and Belarus.
On June 12, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, during telephone talks with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Turchin, stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Moscow and Minsk. In addition, the heads of government discussed the implementation of joint cooperation projects in various fields.
