There have been 292 road accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours.

Over the past day, 292 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 30 people were killed and 362 injured. Five of the dead were pedestrians, the remaining 25 were drivers and passengers of vehicles. This was reported to Izvestia on June 27 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian Interior Ministry.

As a result of 62 accidents, 22 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 40 outside their area of operation, 59 pedestrians were injured of varying severity. Among the injured were 23 underage pedestrians, eight of whom were injured when crossing the roadway at designated locations.

So, on one of the streets of Moscow, a 32-year-old female passenger car driver ran over a 12-year-old schoolgirl crossing the roadway at an unregulated pedestrian crossing on a scooter. As a result of the accident, the girl, who was unaccompanied by adults, was injured and hospitalized.

14 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which one person was killed, and 18 more road users, including one child, required medical assistance. Nine bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.

56 accidents involving minors were also registered, as a result of which 61 young road users were injured, including 22 passengers, five cyclists and 10 motor transport drivers. Two people were killed: a passenger and a pedestrian.

So, in Dagestan, on a regional highway, a 35-year-old car driver, who was brought to administrative responsibility nine times for traffic violations over the past year, drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a crossover. A 12-year-old passenger of the car responsible for the collision, who was in the front passenger seat and was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, died in a car accident. The drivers of both cars, as well as two other passengers from the car that drove into the "oncoming lane" were injured and ended up in the hospital.

Riding into the unknown: the court replaced the driver who left the scene of the accident with a fine.

The Russian Armed Forces explained the nuances of behavior after the accident

In one of the villages of the Belgorod region, in the evening, an intoxicated driver of a passenger car ran over two underage female pedestrians born in 2008 and 2009, who were crossing the roadway at a controlled pedestrian crossing at a traffic light. As a result of the accident, the youngest of the pedestrians (16 years old) was killed, her 17-year-old friend was hospitalized with injuries. The motorist who hit them had not previously been issued a driver's license.

On the eve of the weekend, the State Traffic Inspectorate urged road users not to remain indifferent to the problem of drunkenness at the wheel and promptly inform the police about drivers who behave inappropriately on the road, driving drunk. Traffic police officers are ready to take all necessary operational measures to respond to such reports.

Motorists were also advised to be more careful on the roads of towns and cities in the summer, when school-age children spend a lot of time outdoors. People driving should exercise caution when driving through courtyards, crossing intersections, and approaching pedestrian crossings. Driver's discipline is especially necessary if there are child passengers in the car, who should be transported in compliance with all applicable safety requirements.

"We remind parents of underage road users of the need to be more attentive to their children. Have an explanatory conversation with them about the rules of safe travel on personal mobility equipment, bicycles and scooters, paying special attention to the need to dismount when crossing the roadway at a pedestrian crossing. Be sure to use retroreflective elements on children's outerwear to improve the visibility of young pedestrians in the evening," said Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for promoting road safety and preventing child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

On June 16, it was reported that the number of people killed in road accidents in Russia has decreased with an increase in the number of accidents. So, from January to May 2025, 44.4 thousand deaths occurred in Russia. Accidents with deaths or injuries, which is 0.7% more than in the same period last year. The number of dead in them amounted to 4.6 thousand people (-1.9%), and the wounded — 55.7 thousand people (+0.5%).
