The financial assets of Oleg Vasenin, former deputy head of the property management of special projects of the Russian Ministry of Defense, were seized in the amount of more than 200 million rubles. This was announced on June 27 by the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.
"In order to secure a verdict in terms of a fine, civil action and property penalties, securities, investment products and funds belonging to Vasenin were seized in the amount of more than 200 million rubles," the department's Telegram channel says.
The Investigative Committee of Russia also recalled that Vasenin is accused of embezzlement of state property on an especially large scale. A criminal case was opened against him in accordance with Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud").
Earlier, on June 9, it was reported that the investigation had seized Vasenin's property worth over 31 million rubles. According to the petition of the military investigator, the court took him into custody.
The initiation of a criminal case against the former deputy head of the property management of special projects of the Russian Ministry of Defense became known on April 28. It was established that in 2022 a contract was signed with Translom LLC for the provision of services for the acceptance of secondary raw materials. Subsequently, Vasenin provided deliberately false documents about the cost of the work and committed embezzlement of budget funds in the amount of over 240 million rubles.
