Orban declared the impossibility of Ukraine's admission to the European Union

For Ukraine to be accepted into the European Union (EU), it is necessary to know the borders of its territory, as well as the composition of the country's population. This was announced on June 27 by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Radio Kossuth.
"When we accept a country into the European Union, we need to know what it is like. Where are its borders? What is its population? Then we can talk about whether its legal system or economic system is suitable. No one can say what Ukraine is," he believes.
According to the Prime Minister, currently no one can know up-to-date information about Ukraine against the background of the fact that its population is rapidly leaving the country. He clarified that the borders are also not defined and may change depending on the outcome of the conflict with Russia.
Orban recalled that knowing the exact area and population when applying to the EU is a priority condition for calculating the share of the new country in the total budget and the amount of subsidies allocated. However, at the moment we are talking about "accepting something completely indefinite into the EU."
Earlier in the day, the EU was unable to adopt a statement on Ukraine following the Brussels summit, as one of the countries of the association did not support it. At the same time, the country that refused to accept the application is not named.
On the eve of the EU summit, Orban said that Ukraine should not be part of the union, because it would bring with it a systematic threat of conflict.
