13 members of a gang of scammers were detained in Moscow.


In Moscow, law enforcement agencies detained 13 members of a gang of scammers who deceived pensioners. This was announced on June 27 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
It is specified that the scammers called pensioners and introduced themselves as employees of an organization manufacturing plastic windows. Under the pretext of a free check, they came to the apartments and persuaded them to replace the window fittings. At the same time, the attackers greatly overestimated the cost of their services. The total amount of damage was over 1.5 million rubles.
"Operatives with the support of Rosgvardiya employees in Moscow, the Moscow Region and the Republic of Tatarstan detained the suspects," the Telegram channel says.
10 criminal cases have been initiated against them on the grounds of a crime under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud").
The day before, five extortionists were arrested on the territory of Vladivostok International Airport named after V.K. Arsenyev. It was noted that the defendants used violence, as well as the threat of its use and destruction of the vehicle, extorted money from a foreign citizen engaged in private transportation.
