Oleg Zubkov, the director of the Crimean safari park "Taigan", who suffered from a lion attack, wrote a letter while undergoing treatment at the Thoracic Surgery Center. This was announced on June 27 in the press service of the nursery on the YouTube channel.

"I'm alive and I'll be back in the ranks soon," Zubkov was quoted as saying.

Tatyana Aleksagina, a spokeswoman for the safari park, noted that he walks around the hospital on his own, but cannot speak due to damage to his trachea.

"Recovery is taking leaps and bounds. On the fourth day after the attack, there was an amazing result," she stressed.

Lev attacked Zubkov on June 22, inflicting multiple wounds on the man. The victim underwent surgery, and his condition was stabilized. According to Aleksagina, the director of the park attracted Lev's attention by the sharp sound of the door closing.

A criminal case has been opened into the attack under Article 143 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of labor protection requirements resulting in serious harm to human health").
