- Six US citizens were detained in South Korea while sending bottles of rice to the DPRK.

Law enforcement officers detained six US citizens in the border area of South Korea — they tried to send about 1.3 thousand bottles of rice, money and books to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). This was reported on June 27 by the South Korean Yonhap news agency, citing police.
"Police on Friday detained six US citizens who tried to dump plastic bottles of rice, one—dollar bills and a Bible into the sea near the closed border area to send them to the DPRK," the article says.
According to the agency, American citizens between the ages of 20 and 50 tried to send bottles from the island in the Yellow Sea of Kanghwado, located 50 km west of Seoul, so that they could reach the coast of the DPRK by water. The detainees will be questioned and charged with violating the law on ensuring security.
Earlier, on June 12, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea stopped broadcasting propaganda loudspeakers on the border with South Korea. Prior to that, the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae-myung, ordered to stop similar propaganda against the DPRK in order to ease tensions on the border.
