Russian Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky is ready to discuss with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte the history of Little Russia and the Zaporozhian Army.

"We will talk with Mark, if necessary, about the history of Little Russia and the Zaporozhian Army. I'm sure he'll learn a lot of new things. Just like he's sure to tell me a lot of new things. For example, about the development of Indonesia by the Dutch merchants," he told TASS on June 27.

The presidential aide also made a proposal to send the NATO Secretary General a sixth-grade Russian history textbook. However, according to him, Rutte is unlikely to appreciate the gift.

"I would have sent him [the textbook], to be honest, but then I thought it was a pity, he wouldn't read anyway. I'd rather give it to our people who read it. It is necessary to teach children while they are lying across the bench. And in this case, it's too late," Medinsky said.

Earlier, on May 16, Medinsky explained the reason for the transfer of Crimea to Ukraine in 1954. According to him, the transfer of the peninsula took place because Nikita Khrushchev, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU, and a group of interested parties needed the votes of the Ukrainian leaders in the party to retain power.
