Argentine composer Lalo Schifrin has died at the age of 93.


Argentine and American composer, jazz pianist and conductor Lalo Shifrin (birth name Boris Claudio Shifrin) died on June 26 at the age of 94. Shifrin's death was confirmed to The Guardian by his sons William and Ryan.
"The composer died on Thursday (June 26. — Ed.) from complications caused by pneumonia," the publication says.
Shifrin was born in 1932 in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires. Already in 1963, the composer wrote his first piece of music for Hollywood, and since then has participated in the creation of musical themes for more than a hundred films.
The most famous composition of the musician was the theme to the serial film "Mission Impossible". In addition, Shifrin is the author of music for the TV series "Mannix", "Starsky and Hutch".
As a conductor, he has worked with many renowned orchestras, including the London Symphony and the Argentine National Symphony.
Shifrin is the winner of four Grammy Awards (in 1964, 1965 and 1968 in two nominations), as well as the Oscar winner for Outstanding Achievements in cinematography (in 2018).
