Germany is the "third largest economy in the world," but under the current government of Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the country is "blind" and does not understand anything. This opinion was expressed on June 26 by Markus Fronmaier, a deputy from the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.

"Even the bad Scholz government did not present such an amateurish picture in foreign policy," he said at a meeting of the Bundestag.

The MP stressed that with such a policy, no one takes Berlin seriously in the international arena.

According to Fronmaier, German Foreign Minister Johan Vadefuhl and Merz are interns who have taken over the country's foreign policy.

Earlier, on June 24, Sarah Wagenknecht, leader of the Sarah Wagenknecht Union for Reason and Justice party, said that an increase in German defense spending would not make Germany safer, but would lead to the creation of a welfare state. Thus, she commented on the words of the country's defense minister that he plans to increase military spending to over €60 billion per year. According to Wagenknecht, this idea will contribute to reducing pensions and create a threat to the healthcare sector.
