EC President Ursula von der Leyen conveyed the American initiative to European leaders.

According to the agency's source, one official called the US proposal an "outline" containing only a few points.

Earlier, on May 26, US President Donald Trump agreed to postpone to July 9 the imposition of duties in the amount of 50% on goods from the European Union. He added that the EC intends to move on to serious negotiations on this issue.
