The United States has submitted to the European Commission (EC) a new proposal for a trade deal with the EU. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on Thursday, June 26.

EC President Ursula von der Leyen conveyed the American initiative to European leaders.

According to the agency's source, one official called the US proposal an "outline" containing only a few points.

Earlier, on May 26, US President Donald Trump agreed to postpone to July 9 the imposition of duties in the amount of 50% on goods from the European Union. According to the American leader, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, asked him about it during a telephone conversation. He added that the EC intends to move on to serious negotiations on this issue.
