In Tatarstan, the alimony debtor himself drove the bailiff to the department

In the city of Almetyevsk, Republic of Tatarstan, bailiff Regina Siraeva called a taxi and recognized the driver as a malicious alimony defaulter, after which she sent him to the department. This was announced on June 25 by the Main Directorate (GU) of the Federal Bailiff Service (FSSP) of Russia in the Telegram channel.

"While the man was driving confidently, the bailiff checked him through the database. Bingo is him, the elusive one who used to say, "You'll never find me." This time fate decided to make a joke — and brought him straight to the building of the bailiff department," the department said.

On the spot, the defaulter was unable to repay the debt of 165 thousand rubles. As a result, his car was sent to a parking lot, and the cost of transporting and storing the car was added to the amount of debt.

"When the car pulled up, I immediately recognized the man, I remember faces well," recalls the bailiff.

As lawyer Victoria Shevtsova noted in an interview with Izvestia, what happened is an exceptional case, since with the amount of work that bailiffs do, it is hardly possible to remember all debtors.

"It is likely that either the bailiff who has just started work again has so carefully memorized the debtor in question, or a combination of circumstances. <...> There are no other factors and there are no answers to this question," she said.

At the same time, Shevtsova stressed that in large cities, it is usually not the bailiffs themselves who search for debtors in such non-standard ways, but the recoverers and their lawyers. According to her, unusual approaches in the search could improve the situation and lead to more children receiving their alimony payments.

Prohibition for the sake of rights: new restrictions may be imposed for non-payment of alimony

These include a ban on opening bank accounts and approving loans.

Since May 25, the register of debtors on alimony obligations has been launched on the website of the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation. It is noted that it will include persons brought to administrative and criminal responsibility for non-payment of funds for the maintenance of minor children or disabled parents.
