The United States has approved the allocation of $30 million for the Humanitarian Aid Fund for Gaza (GHF). This was reported by the Reuters news agency on Thursday, June 26.
The State Department called on other countries to also support the organization providing assistance in the conflict-ridden Gaza Strip.
"This support is just another step by the President [of the United States Donald] Trump and Secretary of State [Marco] Rubio are on the path to peace in the region," Deputy State Department Spokesman Tommy Pigott told reporters at a regular briefing.
According to Pigott, the foundation has already distributed more than 46 million portions of food to Gazans during its existence.
Earlier, on June 25, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and American leader Donald Trump discussed the situation in the Middle East. President Erdogan welcomed the cease-fire between Israel and Iran, achieved thanks to the efforts of the US President, and wished it to be permanent.
