The jeweler told about artificial amber with insects

Today, in the jewelry market, manufacturers deceive customers by offering supposedly natural amber with insects. About how such a stone is created, June 26, "Gazeta.Ru," said Alexander Stempovsky, founder of the Stempovsky jewelry house.
"If you go to Kaliningrad, there are a lot of insects in amber. This is an artificial [stone]. They take amber, make a powder out of it, mix it with a special glue and pour some kind of modern insect with this liquid," the jeweler explained.
He noted that such a product has a low cost, unlike real stones, where ancient insects are really frozen.
Stempowski explained what factors influence the cost of natural amber with a piece of ancient fauna.
"It's not so much the amber itself that matters, but what's inside, in what condition, what size, and how many similar insects have been found in the world before," the expert shared.
Earlier in the day, a 35 million-year-old insect was found in amber in the Kaliningrad region. An insect from the order Blattodea, which is preserved in a piece of honey amber, was found during manual sorting.
