- Anna Wintour leaves the post of editor-in-chief of American Vogue after 37 years of work

British journalist Anna Wintour intends to leave the post of editor-in-chief of the American version of Vogue magazine after 37 years in this post. The New York Post (NYT) wrote about this on June 26.
According to a source close to the owner of the Condé Nast publishing house, 75-year-old Wintour held a staff meeting on Thursday morning and informed them of her decision. She also added that she is looking for a new "head of editorial content" for the magazine.
The editor-in-chief, who has been in charge of the publication since 1988, will continue to serve as Condé Nast's global content director, as well as global Editorial Director of Vogue.
Wintour started working at American Vogue in 1983 as creative director. Her work style and tough communication style with employees became the prototype of Miranda Priestly's character in the film "The Devil Wears Prada", played by actress Meryl Streep.
In September 2024, it was reported that British investor Paul Marshall acquired The Spectator magazine for $130 million. According to the editor-in-chief of the publication, Fraser Nelson, the deal amounted to £ 100 million, which is five times more than in 2005, when the magazine split from the Daily Telegraph. The Spectator magazine has been published since 1828 with a circulation of about 100 thousand copies.
