Medicine, education, mechanical engineering and ecology will become priority areas in the development of cooperation between the Kemerovo Region and the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR). This was announced on June 26 by the head of Kuzbass, Ilya Seredyuk.

"The team of the V.K. Gusak Institute of Emergency and Reconstructive Surgery (Donetsk), in collaboration with scientists from the Kuzbass Research Institute of Complex Problems of Cardiovascular Diseases (Kemerovo), creates unique biocompatible "anti-wound patches," or "second skin," he said in an interview with the DAN news agency.

Seredyuk added that universities in Kuzbass and the DPR are implementing a program to support children and families of their participants. According to him, the regions are actively exchanging experience in this area.

The head of the Kemerovo Region stressed that promising areas of cooperation are mechanical engineering, ecology and the restoration of educational infrastructure. He noted that Donbass scientists are becoming full participants in the projects.

Kuzbass — Donbass is no longer just an ambitious project, but a really working platform. Advanced technologies are born and implemented here, and the intellectual resources of the regions are combined to solve common problems," Seredyuk said.

On May 27, the Tula Regional Duma signed interparliamentary cooperation agreements with the DPR and the LPR. Its chairman, Andrei Dubrovsky, stressed that the region continues to rebuild Mariupol, and noted that sports facilities and kindergartens have recently been opened in the city.
