Lamberd Akhyadov, a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter (listed as a terrorist and extremist by Rosfinmonitoring), was sentenced to 28 years in prison for the murder of an inspector of the Moscow Administrative Traffic Inspectorate (MADI) in the center of the capital in Zaryadye Park. This was reported on June 26 by the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.

"The verdict of the court sentenced Akhyadov to imprisonment for a period of 28 years with serving the first seven years in prison, and the rest of the sentence in a high—security penal colony," the Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation says.

He was found guilty of participating in a terrorist organization, committing a terrorist act, assaulting the life of a law enforcement officer and using violence against a government official.

On January 2, 2023, Akhyadov was arrested by a decision of the Tver Court on suspicion of murdering a MADI employee near Zaryadye Park in Moscow. The detainee inflicted at least 15 wounds on the victim's vital organs, which caused him to die.

On December 18, 2024, it became known that the investigation into the murder of a MADI employee had been completed. Investigators clarified that Akhyadov had sworn allegiance to the Islamic State (an organization recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in Russia).
