The United States is on the diplomatic path of negotiations with Iran in order to achieve sustainable peace in the Middle East. This was announced on June 26 by White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt.

"Right now we are on a diplomatic path with Iran. The President [of the United States Donald Trump] and his team, namely Special Envoy [Stephen] Witkoff continues to maintain contacts with the Iranians," Leavitt said at a briefing.

According to her, the whole world has seen that the United States is supposedly "the most important country in the world" with deadly combat forces.

On June 21, Trump announced a successful attack on three Iranian nuclear facilities — in Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan. On the same day, he threatened Tehran with new missile strikes if the conflict was not resolved. Later, on June 23, Iran launched 11 missiles at US military bases in the Middle East during Operation Good News of Victory.

In the evening of the same day, the US president announced that Israel and Iran had agreed to a complete cease-fire. After that, Trump expressed the hope that the ceasefire he announced between Tel Aviv and Tehran would become "eternal."
