Russia ranks second in terms of LNG supplies to Europe

Russia is the second largest supplier of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Europe in the first quarter of 2025. The data was published on June 26 by the European statistical agency Eurostat.
"Half of the imports of liquefied natural gas came from the United States (50.7% of all imports in value terms), ahead of Russia (17.0%) and Qatar (10.8%)," the organization's website says.
Russia also took the third place in terms of natural gas supplies in a gaseous state. The indicator was 11.1%.
On May 18, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stressed that Russia is one of the main suppliers of liquefied natural gas to Europe. He noted that the ban on Russian energy imports is an attempt to erect a new "iron curtain."
