Russian-Brazilian Business Forum to be held in Rio de Janeiro

On July 3, 2025, a Russian-Brazilian business forum will be held in Rio de Janeiro, timed to coincide with the events of the XVII BRICS Summit. The forum is designed to promote Russian foreign economic interests in Brazil, organized by the Russia–Brazil Business Council and the Roscongress Foundation under the Roscongress International brand.

"Russian-Brazilian cooperation is multifaceted and covers various fields, including politics, economics, culture and science. Brazil is Russia's largest trading partner in Latin America, accounting for about 48% of Russia's total trade with Latin American and Caribbean countries. Trade reached a historic high in 2024, amounting to 12.4 billion US dollars. At the moment, interregional cooperation has been actively developing, and the dialogue between the subjects of the Russian Federation and the states of Brazil is intensifying. In 2028, the two countries will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. In this regard, the Russian-Brazilian Business Forum acquires additional relevance. I am confident that the event will be a logical continuation of the business dialogue between the two countries, which took place as part of the business program of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum," said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation.

The Russian-Brazilian Business Forum will be attended by government, political and public figures, entrepreneurs, and media representatives from the two countries. The program of the event includes holding a general plenary session, organizing B2B and B2G negotiations between representatives of large and medium-sized businesses, heads of government and public structures in Russia and Brazil.

"Brazil firmly maintains its position as Russia's key partner in Latin America. The countries share common values, advocate the creation of a multipolar world, and are the founders of BRICS. Scientific, technological, educational and humanitarian cooperation has been established. The intensive ties are confirmed by the Russian-Brazilian trade turnover, which has increased to its historical maximum. At the same time, the Business Councils of Russia and Brazil, as well as bilateral meetings and forums, play a special role in the development of business partnership. The holding of the Russian-Brazilian Business Forum is an important strategic step towards the development of trade, economic and business cooperation between our countries. The extensive composition of the emerging Russian delegation demonstrates that, in addition to traditional areas of cooperation, the list of areas of bilateral cooperation is actively growing. I have no doubt that we will have interesting discussions and fruitful networking on the sidelines of the forum in Rio de Janeiro," said Andrey Guryev, Chairman of the Russia-Brazil Business Council and President of the Russian Fertilizer Producers Association.

The Business Forum will become a platform for discussing, searching for and promoting initiatives and projects aimed at strengthening Russian-Brazilian cooperation. Its holding is included in the calendar of key events of Brazil's BRICS presidency.: The BRICS Business Forum will be held in Rio de Janeiro on July 5, and the BRICS Leaders' Summit will be held there on July 6 and 7.
