The Smolninsky District Court of St. Petersburg has ordered the arrest of Marat Gadzhiev, accused of secret cooperation with Norway, for two months. This was reported on June 25 by the joint press service of the city courts.
"The Smolninsky District Court of St. Petersburg issued a decision on the choice of a preventive measure in the form of detention in respect of Marat Gadzhiev, accused of committing a crime under Article 275.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Cooperation on a confidential basis with a foreign state, international or foreign organization - Ed.)," the Telegram says -the press service channel.
According to the investigation, Hajiyev made confidential calls to the Norwegian embassy and consulate, wanting to contact the kingdom's military attache. According to law enforcement officials, he was interested in the possibility of providing assistance in the modernization of military equipment supplied by NATO countries to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and used against Russian troops.
He will remain in custody until August 14. It is noted that Hajiyev did not admit his guilt.
Earlier that day, a court sentenced a photographer from Perm to 16 years in prison for treason. During the proceedings, law enforcement officers established and proved the facts of high treason, while Skvortsov did not admit his guilt.
