A record proportion of Russians have stopped being afraid of being fired


The share of Russians who do not feel threatened with dismissal at work has reached 78%. This is the maximum since 2014, the experts of the platform told Izvestia. hh.ru based on the results of the survey.
A year ago, it was 72%, and at the height of the pandemic in 2020, it was 44%.
Only 13% of respondents believe that they may lose their jobs, while another 8% found it difficult to answer.
Lawyers (86% are not afraid of dismissal), representatives of medicine and pharmacy (84%), science and education (84%), employees of the HoReCa sector (82%), insurance specialists (81%), sales managers (80%), personnel from the sports and beauty industry feel the most confident. (80%) and media and entertainment workers (80%).
Specialists in the procurement, IT and agriculture sectors are the least confident in the stability of their employment — 19% of respondents in each of the fields admitted that they are afraid of losing their jobs. This is the highest rate among all professional groups.
The difference in attitudes towards the risk of dismissal is also noticeable by age. Young people from 18 to 24 years old turned out to be the most confident — 84% of them do not feel the threat of dismissal. Then confidence decreases: 81% of Russians aged 25-34 feel calm, while 73% of those aged 45-54 feel calm. For respondents over 55, this figure is only 69%.
"Job seekers' confidence is growing against the backdrop of high demand for staff, rising salaries and a trend towards employee retention, which is being picked up by more and more companies," commented the research director. hh.ru Maria Ignatova.
On May 5, general practitioner and pulmonologist Marat Farrakhov warned that night work, irregular schedules and constant overloads are often perceived as necessary, but such a regime can cause serious harm to health.
