- The Russian Foreign Ministry promised to summon the German ambassador due to harassment of Russian journalists.

German Ambassador to Moscow Alexander Lambsdorff will soon be summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry, where he will be informed about the response to harassment of Russian journalists in Germany. This was announced on June 26 by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova.
"Our appeals to the German side to stop arbitrariness against media representatives and return to conscientious observance of their obligations in the field of media freedom protection and ensuring pluralism of opinions are stubbornly ignored by Berlin," she said at a briefing.
As specified by "Gazeta.Ru", the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that the German authorities do not stop harassing Russian journalists. She pointed out that administrative pressure, harassment and propaganda are used against media employees and their families.
In response, according to Zakharova, Moscow is developing retaliatory measures. The German ambassador will be summoned to the Foreign Ministry to inform him about them.
Zakharova said on June 19 that Russia is currently choosing German correspondents in Moscow, against whom retaliatory measures will be taken for the persecution of Russian journalists in Berlin. Earlier, German police came to the Berlin apartment of Rossiya Segodnya journalist Sergei Feoktistov and took the passports of his wife and seven-year-old daughter.
